Performing high-energy shows that shake both the rafters and crowds is
nothing new for the BlueHouse Band. Now they're looking to shake up things
even more with a debut full-length disc that gives a bluesy, rockin' take on
life in Broward County.
The CD "Who's in the House???" was released this month by lead guitarist
Robbie Alter, drummer Bobby "BBG" Goldman and bass player Richie Goldman. The
three have crafted 13 tracks that meld modern electric blues with classic
boogie, Southern rock and a twinge of retro swing.
Living in the western 'burbs, the guys have found there's no shortage of
material, whether it's battling traffic on Interstate 95, or giving a fond
shout-out to the Rosey Baby Crawfish & Cajun House in Lauderhill, where
BlueHouse had its first-ever gig in 2001.
Putting together "Who's in the House???" took two years of composing and
laying down tracks, incorporating decades of skills. Their resumes include
Alter's work with Foghat and Ian Hunter. The Goldmans, who are not related,
have also racked up an extensive list of studio and band credits. Richie's
involvement ranges from the disco scene, to sitting in on recording sessions
with country rockers Firefall. Bobby has 20 years with classic rock bands in
South Florida.
"Our backgrounds definitely influence our songs," Bobby Goldman said. "You can
feel the funk going on."
